This is a senior couple that is serving in the Shreveport area.
Some photos of our first tour of the mission and some from our first Zone Conferences. Since the first of July to today the 23rd of July we have logged nearly 5,000 miles. It has been a whirlwind month, and we are so impressed with our missionaries, they are the best.

We have celebrated Birthdays, (Chase at Austin's birthday) and Katies graduation the weather has been less than stellar, but the the great times with our family continues to warm our hearts.

Grandpa & Tanner shared a birthday party, while we had 3 boys in a tub in Vegas, and Grandma doing what she loves most: holding and loving her grand-babies.

A special thanks to our families who take such great care of us in North Carolina. After our call we received tickets to General Conference in Salt Lake during our all ready planned trip to the Masters. So we flew to NC on Wednesday visited family, shopped, and on Friday we flew back to Salt Lake. Dale & Colene allowed us to stay at their home (Thanks) and on Saturday afternoon we were able to be 2 rows back from the Nielson family as their father Brent H. Nielson (our former Stake President) was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy.

Then we flew back to North Carolina for the trip with my brothers to the Masters. Quite the weekend, thanks Annette my travel agent and companion. What a great April.

The first week of April are two of the highlights of my life, first is General Conference, and the other is the Masters Golf Tournament. This year my brother Don (red shirt) drew out tickets to the practice round on Monday, so he graciously invited his brothers to accompany him. So Randy (blue sweater) and Kent (white shirt) and I made the trip. It was a wonderful day, it rained on the way down, but once on that beautiful sacred golf course the rain stopped and we had a fantastic day. Thanks Don, Randy, and Kent for making it a great memory to last 3 years.

As I look at our last post we were loving the beaches of Hawaii, and we were already to book our flights and plans for next year. We had a great time at the Sony Open, and there is nothing like Hawaii in January.

But then something happened that we were not planning on, we were at Costco, you know samples and lunch? I received a Restricted call and a sweet female voice said is this Brother Tom Tucker? I said yes, she said Elder Quintin L. Cook of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles would like to meet with you and your wife sometime next week.

Our life has been a blur every since, that was about the 2nd week of February, and on the 4th of March President Uchtdorf of the First Presidency called us to serve as Mission President to the Mississippi Jackson Mission beginning in July of this year for 3 years.

We were honored to be considered, and now we are humbled at the call, and with the faith, prayers and support of our family we believe that we can do this. Of all the questions that we have been asked, and answered the easiest ones to answer are the ones concerning our children, and their families. They are wonderful, and we would not be able to do this if it were not for their love, and support. Thanks again. We love you all.

Here is Annette sitting in the chair by the laser, she would physically plot each shot on the 9th hole. I would shoot the laser at the ball, and report the yardage to Annette. It was fun we had radios on to two different sources. It was fun to hear all of the excitement going on behind the scenes. We got rained on, dry out, and rained on again. We got really close to some of the players, especially when they hit their drives a little to the right.

This year was our Thanksgiving "on" and Christmas "off" or with all of our family sharing Thanksgiving together this year with the Tuckers. They will all go with their In Laws for Christmas (Thanks Weeks, Chandlers, Carpenters, and Renchers.)

So in accordance with Grandma Tucker's wishes we tried to make the most of it. We started out with converting the garage to a large Wii room, and of course a wonderful meal thanks Annette. But did we stop there? No way, we helped celebrate Carson & Cade's first Birthday Thursday evening. Wasn't that enough? Not yet, we then moved the party to Salt Lake, where we sandwiched in the Boise State Football game with the official turning on of the lights at Temple Square. Enough? almost, we then met at Maddox with many of our Tucker relatives thanks for everyone who came, and especially for Scott & Sheri for putting it all together. Finished right? No, we then all traveled back to Twin for a Family Photo. Needless to say we spent some wonderful family time together, good news, no major damage done. Thanks for everyone who helped so much. This year we were able to make a quick trip to Boise and drop off some Halloween goodies to our families. We got to see Tanner, Clayton, and Austin in their costumes, they were awesome. We had a nice visit with Shane & Amy Jo, and unfortunately we missed Brady & Katie.

Last night we got to play with our little frog "Chase", thanks mom & dad from bringing him by.

We capped off the night by being able to clean the Twin Falls Temple on Halloween Night, that was a choice experience, we are always amazed as the many small blessings that come our way with a House of the Lord nearby.

We spent a day at an old settlement called Sturbridge, it was a re-creation of an original early 1800's settlement. It was interesting, and I'm glad I was born when I was.

Every Fall we usually go on a little "golf trip" to prolong the golf season and enjoy Fall golf at Myrtle Beach. Last year we were in Orlando with the Astins and somehow our Fall golf for this year was "hijacked" to the Berkshires in Massachusetts. We were suppose to enjoy the beautiful changing of the leaves and some golf.
It actually turned out to be a really fun trip, I admit it was not as warm or beautiful as Myrtle Beach but the area is beautiful, the golf was fun, and a lot cheaper than down South.

When you go on an Alaskan Cruise you have some great opportunities for Pictures and to practice your photo editing and publishing skills. We had a great time with Phil & Brooke, we hope that they are not too tired of us. The Cruise was amazing, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. St. George Temple

Last week we had an alarm show in Las Vegas, we would rather stay in St. George than on the strip in Las Vegas. The alarm show was overwhelming as usual, so many things to see, and learn it is impossible to take it all in. It is good to see what is new and exciting in the world of Security.

The other thing that was overwhelming to us is that we both still love St. George. We always leave St. George wondering how we can work it out so that we can spend 6 months working and living in St. George, and 6 months living and working in Twin. Family beware, the St. George bug has bit again, hang on!!

In Hawaii aloha means hello it can also mean good bye, here we say Hello from Hawaii. But this was taken our last day in the sun, so we also say good bye to Hawaii.

Ko Olina 2008

So this year we stayed at the Ko Olina Vacation site on the west side of Oahu. It was a wonderful, a very comfortable, beautiful, and "warm" resort. The weather was wonderful, only had a little rain one day.

Annette's Annual Therapy Session

Each January after we have "survived the holidays", when the sun hides its face, and the temperature drops below 40 Annette informed me a few years ago that I can either take her to somewhere warm, or I can pay for the therapy sessions necessary to keep her sane.

One of my favorite times of the year is Christmas, I love the music, the way most people's hearts are more open, and receptive to the spirit of the Lord. And of course I love getting to get together with our family and friends. This year Tanner and Clayton are more understanding of the season, and Austin, Chase, Carson, and Cade were able to enjoy their first Christmas. We are overwhelmed with the blessings poured down upon our family, and publicly give thanks, and acknowledge the Lord's hand in all that we have. We hope that all enjoyed the holidays as well as we gear up for a new year.

This such a neat picture to have twice the fun in having a new baby. This year has been a flurry with Austin on March 16, Chase on November 7th, and now Carson and Cade on the 27th of November. We need time to slow down a little so we can enjoy them more. Great work all of our kids.

Shane & Amy Jo are Parents!!

We are so excited to announce that Shane & Amy Jo have crossed that line and are now fully Invested parents. Not that all children are not a challenge to get and take care of, but I think that these two have paid a price for their little bundles of joy.
After Amy Jo spent about 9 weeks of her life in bed at the hospital, she then came back to the same hospital, and proceeded to give birth naturally to those little boys. Carson was born first at around 8:15pm on the 27th of November he weighed in at 4lbs 8oz, 16 inches long. About 5 minutes later Cade followed and weighed in at 4lbs 13 oz, and a whopping 171/2 inches long.
That is almost 10 pounds of baby Amy, Great work Amy Jo you are amazing.
You both are such great examples, and have such a great attitude, like all of our grandchildren Carson and Cade are very luck kids. They have the best parents.

Congratulations to the new parents, mostly Brooke who delivered a healthy handsome baby boy this morning November 7, 2007 at 7:00 am in Twin Falls, Idaho. Great work everyone, special thanks to Dr. Astin who helped the miracle take place.

Our Trip To Florida & North Carolina

Annette and I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando Florida with our friends the Astins. We had a wonderful week in sunny Florida. We got in plenty of golf, Universal Studios, Disney, visited one of the most beautiful temples we have ever seen, and we got to watch the launch of the Space Shuttle.

We then flew up to Winston-Salem NC and visited all of our families there. Thanks for the great time, we had a wonderful visit.
